Pre-Nursery & Nursery Teachers
|
Ms. Danielle,
Assistant Teacher Danielle graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Spanish. Ms. Danielle has been working with children for over five years in various roles as ESL teacher, camp counselor, through after school programs, and as a swim instructor and coach. Having been born and raised in East Hampton, Ms. Danielle has a strong connection to the East End and feels priviledged to be able to teach where she grew up. She cannot wait to foster the same love of our environment, which she has learned growing up on the East End, in our young learners. Ms. Danielle is also eager to bring her love of languages, extensive travel experience, and culture to the classroom. The combination of Ms. Danielle's international studies and ESL teaching sparked her desire to pursue her Master's in Education, so she can continue on her path as an educator. |
Ms. Josephine,
Assistant Teacher & Animal Educator Josephine is The Green School animal educator and the third assistant in the Pre-School Nursery class. Josephine has a shared love of animals and children and finds that The Green School provides the perfect match for her to educate little ones about our animal friends. In addition to taking care of our animals and teaching our young learners how to care for them, Josephine has extensive equestrian experience as well. She has grown up riding and loves that she gets to interact with the horses every day. |
Pre-Kindergarten Teachers
Ms. Lesley, Head Teacher
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Lesley Gold and I am honored to be your child’s Pre-Kindergarten teacher this year at The Green School! I am looking forward to working with you and your child in this unique and natural learning environment. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow this year. I am a new teacher at The Green School, but have been in the classroom for twelve years. I have also been part of The Art Farm family for the past seven years. I am looking forward to meeting, as well as knowing each child in my class and their parents too. I am confident that my experience and background will be an asset to your child’s learning and development. I am very dedicated, enthusiastic, and creative, always striving to meet or surpass my goals. I also strive to meet the needs of each child. I accomplish this by differentiating my instructional methodologies to incorporate diverse activities and material to engage each student. I hold a Master of Science in Education in Students with Disabilities (1-6) from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in English from the State University of Oswego. I also hold New York State Certifications in Early Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities. I look forward to meeting you and your child! |
Ms. Mary, Assistant Teacher
My name is Mary Sabo and I am incredibly excited to be joining The Green School as the Assistant Teacher in the Pre-K classroom. I am currently obtaining my Masters in Elementary Education at LIU Riverhead. I have a B.A. in Theater Performance and a minor in Musical Theater from Marymount Manhattan in New York City. For eight summers I worked at the Hayground Camp in Bridgehampton as a counselor and head counselor. As a counselor I worked with children 3-14 years of age. For three of those summers I orchestrated and directed the annual end of the summer talent show "The Hayground Follies". In doing this, I had the privilege to combine my love of live performance with working with children. My goal was to make performing less intimidating for the campers and improve the confidence of each and every child. I also worked as Assistant to the Director at Stages, a Children's Theater Workshop in Southampton during the summer of 2007 assisting with two full length musicals. It was at Stages, as a child of 7, I first performed and found my love of music and singing with a group. In the fall of 2008 I became a substitute teacher for kindergarten and second grade at the Grace Church School in New York City. It was after graduating college and working with the students that I felt I had found my calling. I feel every child is special and talented and The Green School has fostered a program to nurture these students and their gifts from a young age. I have a deep love for the East End and feel privileged to be working at a school that allows children to see the beauty that surrounds them right in their own backyard. I am looking forward to this year and the opportunity to be joining such a fantastic team. |
