A Multi-Cultural Journey through a Farm Based Curriculum!
Our Nursery program introduces young learners to school through joyful, nature-rich play. Children explore outdoors daily—collecting treasures, observing seasons and building early social skills. Academics are gently woven in through hands-on experiences: recognizing letters and sounds through activities such as letter hunts and tactile writing, counting throughout the day, learning shapes, and building independence with routines like snack, dressing, and clean-up. Through our multi-cultural journey around the world, children are exposed to various languages, cuisine, art and literature. Tolerance, acceptance and kindness are key principles of our philosophy explored through our international travels.
Entering each day with a walk through the apple orchard, children step into a magical, nature-rich setting designed to nurture the whole child. Surrounded by fresh air, animals, and open green spaces, they learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences that integrate science, language arts, and math into daily activities such as gardening, cooking, art, and caring for our farm animals. We believe in exploring each child’s different learning styles and interests, making it a priority each day so that all students feel supported.
Our program embraces play-based learning, recognizing play as the foundation of cognitive growth, creativity, and problem-solving. With a teacher and assistant teachers supporting small classes, we are able to offer individualized attention, honor diverse learning styles, and encourage curiosity, independence, and joyful engagement.
Social–emotional development is woven into every part of the day. Through animal care, cooperative projects, outdoor exploration, and our creative art studio, children learn empathy, responsibility, self-regulation, and confidence. Art becomes a way to express feelings, explore ideas, and build a strong sense of identity and community. Students naturally develop key life skills that include kindness to our planet and all living things. Our goal is to help students become self-reliant and develop a strong self-image.
Grounded in sustainability and environmental stewardship, our green curriculum teaches children how to recycle, compost, conserve energy, and understand where food comes from. They plant and harvest vegetables, explore different habitats, and develop healthy relationships with nature. Our eco-friendly barn, powered by solar panels, models real-world sustainability in action. Nothing goes to waste on the farm, and each item is incorporated into a project or a learning opportunity.
As a farm-based school, we believe deeply in connecting children to land, animals, and seasonal rhythms. They learn colors, shapes, letters, early math, and scientific thinking naturally as they feed animals, pick apples, observe weather patterns, and participate in the life of our gardens. Our ‘outdoor classroom’ proves to be a key element in The Green School’s philosophy of learning through discovery. Healthy eating, organic gardens and farm-to-table make up our A-B-C's.
A vital part of our philosophy is “paying it forward.” For each student enrolled, we sponsor another child’s education in Thailand through our charity organization, Mari’s Children, fostering global awareness, kindness, and gratitude.
