Mari's Children was created out of a humanitarian response to the plight of the children impacted by the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami in 2004. At the suggestion of then Art Farm parent and ABC News correspondent, Christiane Amanpour. Mari contacted a London-based relief organization in Sri Lanka. Since Sri Lanka, Mari's Children has expanded its work globally by funding initiatives for children around the world and right here at home through The Art Farm and The Green School.
International Giving! We were part of renovating an orphanage in Sri Lanka
Our first project was to be part of renovating an 80 yr old orphanage for children with disabilities. Our donations allowed for a brand new computer lab. Sponsor a child's education in Thailand
Our program in Chaing Mai Thailand, sponsors children to attend school. This program has helped hundreds of children to date and each child that attends The Green School sends one child to school in Thailand. We gave out 200 soccer balls to local schools in Costa Rica
Play for Charity
Our play on the farm drop in class is created with our philosophy of giving back. Children come to play on the farm while surrounded by all our furry farm friends. All proceeds go to our charity, Mari's Children, providing local families with financial assistance towards preschool tuition. Read more here. |
