Mixed Ages Learn Together!
  • Students benefit from a mixed age group through peer learning, leading, following and participating cooperative work and play.
  • Our cozy classroom with a a focus on sustainability, animals, organic foods and hands on learning makes for a loving and inspiring atmosphere.
Children connect with the environment and  learn the importance of sustainability while participating in our compost and recycling program.  Each day they feed  left overs to our chickens while eggs are brought back to our kitchen. In the kitchen we use math and fine motor skills while baking a healthy, organic treat. In the spring compost goes into our garden, seeds are planted, and we tend, nurture and  look forward to harvest time.

Children discover and learn hands on as we incorporate science, language arts, and math skills into activities like gardening, art, cooking/baking and animal care. Under the nurturing care of our teachers, we are able to give individual support with only twelve students per class. We believe in encouraging different learning styles and interests, and inspire our students to be curious, self-motivated and enthusiastic participants in their education.

Through our unique and nurturing educational program of animal connection, children are taught responsibility, compassion and patience. They learn about colors, shapes, letters and different habitats as we work in our flower and vegetable gardens and feed and care for our animal friends.  During art we encourage the expression of feelings and emotions and recognize the importance of art in shaping and growing children's minds.

Through our green curriculum, we teach the importance of saving energy, recycling and composting, and we introduce healthy eating habits in our country kitchen. They also learn that typical "trash" becomes incredible art pieces.

"Today, I will be kind to the earth. I will eat healthier foods for my body and I will encourage others to make better choices for the environment "
